Photography is an integral part of my person. I love capturing what I see in nature and sharing it with people through my images—it brings me so much joy to connect with others this way.

A passionate photographer, adventurer, and storyteller, Sam Beresford has spent her life capturing the fleeting beauty of the world through her lens. Raised in Ireland and Spain, Sam developed a love of travel and adventure at an early age, which has profoundly shaped her photography.

A skilled horsewoman and explorer at heart, Sam has embarked on solo photography adventures to Norway, Iceland, Alaska, Spain, Australia and many more.

Her talent for capturing nature’s wonders was first discovered while canoeing on the serene lakes of Ontario, Canada, where she realised her ability to share those magical moments with others.

Sam’s journey led her to study photography and Italian literature at the prestigious S.A.C.I University in Florence, Italy, after completing a Cordon Bleu diploma in London. Her career has spanned the globe, blending her expertise as both a professional chef and photographer.

From catering for Nike during the Sydney Olympics to holding exhibitions in Florence, Sydney, and Ireland, her work reflects her extraordinary life experiences.

One of Sam’s most exhilarating experiences in Iceland was free diving in the pristine glacial waters of the Silfra Fissure, nestled within Þingvellir National Park. Filtered through volcanic rock over decades, the water is so pure and clear that visibility seems almost endless.

Silfra is the only place on Earth where you can dive between two continental plates—the North American and Eurasian—offering a rare opportunity to explore the meeting point of these vast tectonic forces.

Beneath the surface, an otherworldly landscape of luminous blues and striking contrasts creates the perfect setting for breathtaking underwater photography.

Now based in Millthorpe, NSW, with her youngest son, Phonsie, Sam continues to share her love of nature and travel, while her two older children, Ruby and Charlie, pursue their own adventures in Ireland and the Netherlands.
